Lets' take a beat and come together for an immersive experience of sensory exploration and creation. Here, we will be exploring and experimenting with the art of analogue printing while converging with the therapeutic essence of sound/music vibration therapy with the likes of binaural beats (learn more) and/or Solfeggio frequencies (learn more) as our personal soundtracks. You'll find yourself enveloped in an atmosphere of shared passion and creative energy and collective flow as we commune together charging the darkroom environment with creative and inspiring energetics inspiring creativity.
Throughout the workshop, participants are encouraged to bring their own negatives for printing (or items to create contact prints/photograms). We will be creating together with a soundtrack collections of meditative rhythms and tones, said to enhance the sensory experience and facilitate a deeper connection with and encouragement of the intuitive process of generating ideas, pragmatic application and creative execution and flow. Through the harmonious interplay of visual and auditory stimuli, attendees will be guided to explore the profound connective dialogue that unfolds between the participant (individually and collectively between other attendees), the creative process, and your resulting masterpiece(s). With this workshop hinging on extremely experimental and fringe in nature, Deborah Kanfer will be guiding and facilitating, where she encourages that everyone attend with an open mind and plenty of curiosity. A theme will be presented closer to the date of the workshop, and participants can choose to engage and utilize this theme in their creations for the session, if they wish.
Whether you're a seasoned printmaker well-versed in the nuances of the darkroom or a curious novice eager to embark on a journey of artistic discovery, this (pilot) workshop promises an enriching and definitely unusual experience like no other. Join us as we embrace the transformative power of creation inspired by intuitive application and forge meaningful connections through the shared pursuit of creative expression. The intention is for this workshop to be a recurring periodic instalment, where together we'll print and create a body of work to then plan to showcase together in an exhibition. Details yet to be confirmed and determined; further ideas and thoughts to discuss and help develop this continuing workshop are welcome and encouraged. This workshop will be a 2.5 - 3hr instalment on Saturday May 25th - 1pm - 4pm. Recurring sessions TBD.
